The new Overtrail trim
With the addition of the Overtrail trim, the LX now offers five different models. The Overtrail can tackle off-road obstacles thanks to front and rear locking differentials. That raises the number of differentials to three, because Lexus keeps the Torsen limited-slip locking center differential in place. This trim level rolls on 18-inch wheels, and it gives you the benefit of a front skid plate, as well as a 24-watt AC inverter.
The MotorTrend review on the 2025 Lexus 700h Overtrail trim
There's a solid case for getting the off-road capable Overtrail trim level if you invest in the new Lexus LX700h SUV. This full-size vehicle has low-range gearing, body-on-frame construction, and a live rear axle. According to MotorTrend, every new LX is essentially an Overtrail that can become an outdoor adventure machine with a set of off-road tires. The Overtrail is arguably the most complete LX on the market. Lexus reports that the LX700h will reach 60 mph in 6.4 seconds, and MotorTrend editors found it's faster than that, hitting 60 mph in just 6.2 seconds
One of the strengths that MotorTrend found in the new Lexus LX700h is that when you slow down to a rock-crawling speed, the Overtrail suspension softens your ride considerably while traveling over rugged terrain. The Torsen differential in the center can be locked, and so can the front and rear axles. Brownfield, TX drivers can switch between regular drive mode settings, including Custom, Normal, Comfort, and Eco, as well as off-road settings, including Deep Snow, Mud, Sand, and Dirt.
